Bethany Hedt-Gauthier, PhD

Visiting Faculty, Data-Driven Global Health Delivery: Program Monitoring and Research Methods

Bethany Hedt-Gauthier earned her PhD in Biostatistics from Harvard School of Public Health and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Her research interests include application, development and evaluation of research methodologies toward health improvements in populations from resource limited environments. In addition to methodology development, Dr. Hedt-Gauthier collaborates on operational research projects related to clinical outcomes of patients. Her current work spans a variety of topics, including HIV, TB, malaria, NCDs, oncology, maternal and child health, electronic health systems, data quality assessments and community health workers in Malawi, Tanzania, Rwanda and Lesotho. From June 2012 to July 2015, Dr. Hedt-Gauthier was based in Rwanda as a Research Advisor to Partners In Health and faculty at the University of Rwanda-College of Medicine and Health Sciences-School of Public Health. In Rwanda, her primary role was to provide technical support to research projects while supporting research capacity building efforts.
