Facilities Maintenance Manager
Abraham Gahenda joined the University of Global Health Equity in July 2019 as a Facilities Manager. He has a wide range of experience in the construction industry specifically in the management of facilities, quality control, and administration. He has worked as a quality control manager at various construction sites including the new Kigali Vision City (504 Residents Units) as well as served in the role of Estates Manager for a period of over 4 years. Prior to joining UGHE, Mr. Gahenda served in the role of Estates Manager at the British High Commission in Kigali-Rwanda and Bujumbura-Burundi.
Mr. Gahenda holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Rwanda and is nearly completing his Master’s Degree in Construction Project Management at Jomo Kenyatta University. He also holds a certificate in health and safety. He has been a member of the Rwandan Institute of Engineers since 2012 and the Rwandan Institute of Real Property Valuers since 2016. Abraham has been attending the Emerging Leadership Program at British High Commission for a period of one year and he is currently doing the International Facilities Management Diploma course from a UK based Institute.
