Alice Bayingana

Research Associate - Office of the Vice Chancellor

Alice Bayingana joined UGHE in March of 2019 as a Research Associate in the Office of the Vice Chancellor. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry from Manchester University. Prior to joining the UGHE team, Ms. Bayingana worked as a Research Fellow for Partners In Health through the Global Health Corps fellowship program and later on as a Mixed-Methods Research Associate. Her experience with PIH involved conducting and facilitating research on various topics including integrating health services at the primary care level, child mortality, and mental health care to name a few. Ms. Bayingana was also involved in the planning and delivery of the intensive operational research training for Ministry of Health and PIH staff and continues to be interested in finding new ways to improve the research capacity of Rwandan health care professionals. She spent the past year working with Agahozo Shalom Youth Village, an education-centered organization that serves Rwandan orphans and vulnerable youth, to create and pilot a sexual and reproductive health curriculum for high school age students. Ms. Bayingana is passionate about access to health care, especially as it relates to young people accessing sexual and reproductive health and mental health services.
