Research Associate for the Exemplars in Under-5 Mortality project
Laura Drown joined UGHE in October of 2018 as a Research Associate working on the Exemplars in Under-5 Mortality project. She holds a MPH in Epidemiology from Boston University’s School of Public Health and a BS in Biology from the College of Charleston.
Prior to joining the UGHE team, Ms. Drown worked as a Research Assistant with the Program in Global Surgery and Social Change at Harvard Medical School, focusing primarily on the Safe Surgery 2020 program. Her work with Safe Surgery 2020 in Ethiopia involved contributing to program evaluation, improving surgical data quality, and supporting the Ethiopian Federal Ministry of Health’s Saving Lives Through Safe Surgery initiative. Ms. Drown’s previous research experience also includes evaluation of the Community Health Strategy in Kenya and management of melanoma clinical trials at Massachusetts General Hospital.
