Head, Clinical Trials Unit

Patience’s field of expertise is clinical research management with a special focus on research ethics. Patience completed a B.Sc in Medical Microbiology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Kenya, and an MSc in Global Bioethics at Universidad Anahuac, Mexico. She has practiced clinical research operations and managed both observational and interventional studies for over 15 years. She previously worked with the Center for Global Health Research, Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) where coordinated research studies for both communicable and non-communicable diseases such as HIV, Tuberculosis, and Sickle Cell. In her most recent appointment, before joining UGHE, Patience worked for 3 years with the University of Maryland Baltimore where she supported clinical trials on Smoking Cessation among People living with HIV and provided regulatory support to the Kenya Program.
