Joel M. Mubiligi, MD

Joel Mubiligi is the Chief Medical Officer for Inshuti Mu Buzima/Partners In Health; he provides oversight and strategic leadership for IMB’s various clinical programs. He joined PIH in 2011 leading successfully the decentralization and integration of NCD and mental health interventions in the District of Burera as well as the mentorship and quality improvement interventions for primary health care services, including maternal and child health. From 2013, Dr. Mubiligi provided advisory and program leadership to the Ministry of Health Human Resources for Health project, where for two years he supported government efforts to develop training programs that will produce a different cadre of qualified health professionals in collaboration with more than 20 US institutions. Dr. Mubiligi holds a Medical degree in general medicine and surgery from the University of Rwanda and a Diploma in Tropical Medicine from the London School of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene; he is currently completing his MBA in Strategic Management. He is also one of the founders and current vice-president of the Rwanda Christian Medical and Dental Organization.
