Abebe Muche, PhD
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR AND HEAD OF HUMAN ANATOMY
Dr. Abebe Muche received his PhD in Neuroscience from Paul Flechsig Institute for Brain Research, Medical Faculty, Leipzig University, Germany in March 18, 2014. He awarded my M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in Human Anatomy and Biology from Addis Ababa University and Alemaya University. For the last two decades, Dr Abebe has been teaching Anatomy, Histology, and Embryology for medical, paramedical, and specialty students. In addition, he has supervised 21 postgraduate students in Ethiopia. He previously served as Head, the Department of Human Anatomy as well as Coordinator, of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences Education Quality Assurance and Audit Office (EQAAC) at Gondar University in Ethiopia. Dr Abebe is experienced in curriculum development and implementation of problem-based learning (PBL) and other innovative pedagogies.
Dr. Abebe Muche has been engaged in several research projects and published more than 40 publications and a book on Anatomical and Histological Techniques. He is a Visiting Scientist, Institute of Human Anatomy, University of Leipzig, Germany. His research interest includes brain morphological and molecular changes in neurodegenerative disease, preconception congenital malformation, the impact of recreational drugs on the central nervous system, Visceral organs size standardization using radiographic apps, anatomical variations, cancer and investigation of histological changes induced by administration of traditional medicines.
