Pierrette Ngutete Mukundwa, MD, MSc

Dr Mukundwa is a global health leader who holds a Master of science in Global Health Delivery degree from the University of Global Health Equity and a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of Rwanda. Her background as a compassionate general practitioner in Eastern Rwanda exposed her to health disparities arising from inadequate surgical care. Driven by a strong belief in equitable access to safe and affordable surgical services, she advocates for improved healthcare delivery, aiming to alleviate the burdens faced by underserved communities and enhance their quality of life.
Her role with the new Global Surgery Option involves coordinating and enhancing global surgery modules within the MGHD curriculum, serving as a dedicated teaching faculty, supporting and mentoring student Global Surgery research projects, and also supporting the Center for Equity in Global Surgery pillars of education, research and innovation, policy and advocacy, global convenings, and fellowship.
