Catherine is a Registered Nurse and a nurse educator with an honors bachelor’s degree in nursing education and master’s degree in nursing education earned at the University of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. She is a former Dean of the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Rwanda, in addition to heading the Skills Laboratory as well as the Midwifery Department. She has also worked as the principle of Ruli Higher Institute of Health in Gakenke District for three years, in addition to working as nurse educator for more than sixteen years at the University of Rwanda .
