COVID-SCORE: A global survey to assess public perceptions of government responses to COVID-19 (COVID-SCORE-10)
Research at the Vice Chancellor's Office
This research project developed a novel ten-item instrument that asked over 13,000 people selected randomly from the general populations of 19 countries to rate key aspects of their government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The COVID-SCORE was found to be a valid survey instrument and could be used by governments to engage their citizens in pandemic response. Through principal component analysis of the 10 survey items, it was found that trust in government, among many other factors, may influence public perception of the response.
