Before joining the UGHE, he was working for different organizations and institutions in the Netherlands. Darius has been working for Choices International Foundation in the Netherlands, where he was exploring the science behind the food product classification and how it related to the double burden of malnutrition globally.  

Darius has experience in medical nutrition, public health, and research got from working with national and international organizations. He has been working for the USAID project (District Nutrition and Gender Officer); Three Stones International/RTI International project (Researcher on the double burden of malnutrition); Rwanda Military Hospital (Nutrition and Dietetics Practitioner); Health Relief and Development Organization (Nutrition and Health Officer); and UNICEF/Netherlands (Volunteer), and World Vision (Public Health Nutrition Intern). He is an accomplished professional with a career of stable and very progressive experience.   

In 2020, Darius graduated with his master’s program in Nutrition and Health, specialization in Nutritional Physiology and Health Status at Wageningen University and Research, the Netherlands. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics got from the University of Rwanda/College of Medicine and Health Science. He did special courses in Master of Public Health from Mount Kenya University. And he has extensive knowledge in food systems for a healthy and sustainable diet got from Wageningen Centre for Innovation Development, the Netherlands. In March 2022, he was awarded the certificate of completion in the African Food Fellowship on Food Systems Leadership Programme (FSLP) by Wageningen University and Research, and Wasafiri.  He also has many certificates in different domains, such as Early Childhood Development, Monitoring &Evaluation.  

Darius is fully committed to contributing to the UGHE mission of radically changing the way health care is delivered around the world.     

 In his free time, he plays Basketball and watches documentaries on science fiction.
