Gloria Igihozo, MSc

One Health Coordinator

Gloria Igihozo is the One Health Coordinator in the Center for One Health. In this department, she is conducting a Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR)-funded research project on one health principles in the Coronavirus (covid-19) response in Rwanda, in collaboration with the University of Ottawa. She is responsible for conducting an environmental scan that will explore the extent to which both One Health and equity are part of existing governance response systems in Rwanda. Gloria also supports the Center for One Health in One Health curriculum development, for both in-person and online learning.

Gloria holds a Master’s degree in Managing Global Health Delivery from the University of Global Health Equity and a Bachelor’s in Biochemistry from Messiah University. Prior to joining UGHE, Gloria worked as an events coordinator for the Human Rights Awareness coalition of the Agape Center for Service and Learning. She also served as the Chair of the Multicultural Council on the Student Government Association of Messiah University. Gloria is passionate about research and hopes to leverage its powerful story-telling abilities to amplify the voices of impoverished and marginalized communities, and highlight their experiences in healthcare systems across the globe.
