Simulation and Biomedical Sciences Technician
Mr. Jonas Twizeyimana holds a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Private Institute of Technology of Burkina Faso (IST Burkina Faso) and a Technical Advanced diploma in Biomedical Equipment Technology from Rwanda Polytechnic- IPRC Kigali.
On top of that, he has completed numerous short courses including, Introduction to Healthcare Engineering for Humanitarian context by Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Medical Equipment quality Assurance by Fluke Biomedical, Future of patient monitoring system and Electrical safety by Fluke Biomedical, Certification training by Gradian Health Systems, Medical Simulation by Boston Children Hospital-Simulator program, Cold chain supply management by Disaster Ready, Repairing, Maintaining medical devices by Delft University of Technology and more
Prior to joining the University of Global Health Equity he worked as a Site Technician at Tecno Engineering Company Ltd (TECO Ltd) where he was part of the team that set up all the AV, CCTV Cameras and internet installation at the UGHE Butaro Campus and have enormously to the UGHE Simulation and Basic medical sciences, the AudioVisual systems upgrade.
He has also held several volunteer and internship positions such as; two months of academic internship and two months of volunteer internship in the University teaching Hospital Kigali (CHUK), BMET professional internee at Rwanda Biomedical Centre(RBC)/ Medical Technology and Infrastructure Division (MTI),Volunteer in Edified Generation Rwanda, a charity non-government organization/ Member of the founding team,volunteer at Masaka District Hospital/ Maintenance department,volunteer at ICS/Challenges Worldwide as Technical Consultant.
He is passionate about the use of Engineering and Technology for better healthcare services delivery globally.
