Mireille Umutesi

Program Manager

Mireille Umutesi joined UGHE in September 2021. She has a broad background working with international organizations, in three different sectors, namely: Health, at Management Sciences for Health (MSH); Education, at Education Development Center (EDC); and the Environment, at International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), where she supported the implementation of multiple projects at the International Union for Conservation of Nature, for the regional hub of Forest Landscape Restoration (FLR) in the Eastern and Southern Africa Regions. She had worked for Education Development Centre/Literacy Language and learning Initiative project from its startup phase to its completion, as the coordinator of the Finance department.  At Management Sciences for Health, she successfully supported the coordination of the Young Professional Program; a nine-month training program for young professionals at the Ministry of Health/Rwanda. She holds a bachelor degree in Economics with a specialization in Development Studies from the University of Rwanda.

Mireille strongly believes that Education is fundamental to development and growth, she  is an advocate and passionate about children education
