Theodomir Sebazungu
Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology
Theodomir Sebazungu is an Assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at University of global health equity, a graduate in global health delivery, an obstetrician and gynecologist with a strong interest in improving women health through clinical practice medical education and research.
Theodomir has attended and presented research works in various international conferences on Sexual and reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, maternal health, and digital health. He has networking, organizing and communication skills gained from such conferences and different training.
Prior to joining UGHE as a faculty, Theodomir was involved in medical education and research and he has served as a visiting faculty for teaching the module of Social and Community medicine in the department of primary health care, school of medicine and pharmacy, college of medicine and health sciences, University of Rwanda. Furthermore Theodomir, co-supervised two thesis of postgraduate students in obstetrics and gynecology department at university of Rwanda. He also participated in Health professionals teaching institution/ Teaching hospital standard review organized by Human Resource for Health secretariat/Ministry of Health. In addition of being an obstetrician and gynecologist appointed at Kibungo referral hospital, he served as the director of medical and allied health services. Furthermore, he served as an abstract reviewer for 20th International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa (ICASA) held in Kigali, Rwanda and a reviewer for the International Conference on Family Planning scheduled from 14 – 17 November 2022 in Pattaya, Thailand. Currently, he is a reviewer for the East Africa Science Journal and for the East African Health Research Journal. He is an affiliate member of Royal College of obstetricians and gynecologist (RCOG) and a Champion for its MAS Programme and serves as a co-author and research consultant for “Safe abortion (SA)/ Post abortion care (PAC) Provider stigma study 2021: A mixed method and multi-country study to understand what abortion stigma experienced by providers of abortion care looks like in different setting”
Theodomir earned his MBChB and Master of Medicine in Obstetrics and Gynecology from University of Rwanda and his master of science in global health delivery from University of Global Health Delivery.
