UGHE Celebrates MGHD Class of 2019 Graduates

On August 11, 2019, UGHE graduated 46 students from the Master of Science in Global Health Delivery Class of 2019 at its campus in Butaro, Rwanda. The commencement ceremony was attended by over 300 guests and dignitaries, including Her Excellency, the First Lady of the Republic of Rwanda, Mrs. Jeannette Kagame, local and national government officials, leadership from Partners In Health and Inshuti Mu Buzima, UGHE staff, alumni, friends and family of the graduates, thought partners from leading academic institutions, and donors and champions of the University.

The event was highlighted by keynote speaker Dr. Jim Yong Kim, Co-founder of Partners In Health and Former President of the World Bank, along with Honorable Minister of Health Dr. Diane Gashumba, who served as the Guest of Honor for the ceremony. Dr. Paul Farmer, Chancellor of UGHE and Co-founder and Chief Strategist of Partners In Health, and Dr. Agnes Binagwaho, Vice Chancellor of UGHE, also offered remarks to the graduating students.

Congratulations to the Class of 2019! These graduates will now go on to be change-makers in global health and champions of health equity around the world. We look forward to following their journeys as they carry on the UGHE legacy in their respective careers.
